July 28, 2008 – Nielsen/Redstone Tournament Benefits "Caring Communities"

Giff Nielsen and The Redstone Companies presented a $75,000 check to the YMCA of Greater Houston from the 2007 Day of Golf for Kids Golf Tournament, presented by Administaff. The event raised over $300,000 for The First Tee Houston/Redstone, the WON Heart Foundation and the YMCA of Greater Houston.

The $75,000 check will benefit "Caring Communities", the YMCA Apartment Outreach program. Through strategic alliances, YMCA of Greater Houston Caring Community Centers empower Houston area apartment families to achieve a better quality of life. These centers provide a wide range of YMCA programs directly to apartment complex residents. Those programs include: ESL and GED courses, YMCA AfterSchool programs, homework assistance and tutoring, YMCA Youth Sports, financial literacy classes, health and wellness, immunizations and much more. There are more than 30 YMCA Caring Community Centers throughout Houston and surrounding communities.
